A two-member academic and administrative audit team visited the Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) campuses in Cherri-Manatu and Brambe near Ranchi.

The audit team comprising S.P. Pani, executive member, Odisha Higher Education Board; and Vijay Pandey, vice- chancellor (acting), Jharkhand Technical University, Ranchi; interacted with CUJ vice-chancellor K.B. Das, director (Internal Quality Assurance Cell) R.K. Dey and deans on March 28.

Dey made a presentation, to give the visiting team an overview of the university.

The team visited the departments of Education, Hindi, English, Far East Language, Politics and International Relations, Public Administration, Tribal Studies, Performing Arts, Contemporary and Tribal Customary Law, Examinations and Administration at Cherri-Manatu and suggested various measures for improvement in academic and administrative affairs.

On March 29, the experts visited the library, followed by the departments of Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Mass Communication, Business Administration, Commerce and Financial Studies, Geo-informatics, Geography, Environmental Science, Water Engineering and Management, Nanoscience and Technology, Energy Engineering, Transport Science and Technology on the Brambe campus. The team shared key inputs to improve academics and administration.

The Academic and Administrative Audit (AAA) is aimed at evaluating the performance of the various schools and centres of the university and assess their achievements and give suggestions for further improvement of the quality of curricular and extra-curricular activities in the areas of teaching, research, and administration.

The Central University of Jharkhand was established through the Central University Act, 2009, with a vision to focus on research in cutting-edge technologies in Ranchi. It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes in schools/departments of studies.
