The children of Future Hope, an NGO that works with children from vulnerable areas of Calcutta, put up Daruno Agnibane Re — dances and songs from the summer season, aligning with the current hot weather in the city. On the occasion of Rabindra Jayanti, the children underlined a strong narrative of an increasingly warm world and how Tagore’s songs pre-empted it many years ago. Apart from the title number, they also sang and danced to Madhyodine jobe gaan, Nai rosho nai, Chokhe amaar trishna among many such numbers. They were joined by the teachers of the school. Nearly 350 students and their parents watched in rapt attention as the children put up a scintillating performance. Present on the occasion was the CEO of Future Hope, Sujata Sen, principal Meenu Chowdhury Patodia, and Satabdi Bhattacharjee, director, SPK Jain Futuristic Academy.
