Vidula Prakash Abhale has been climbing walls since she was just 5 years old. Hailing from Jamshedpur, Jharkhand this 15-year-old sports wall climber has received several awards and certificates from India and abroad. Vidula’s interest in this sport spiked from climbing shaped walls in the playground as a child. Little did she know that her childhood games would shape her into a skilled wall climber, earning her name in the world of climbing. Speaking of her journey, Vidula stresses that it is not an easy sport. One needs to have agility, upper body strength and balance, attributes that she has painstakingly developed. In fact, the speed event for wall climbing is something she excels. She considers failure as a part of the sport and has bounced back from it stronger and better several times. Vidula is determined in her pursuits as a climber and is constantly working on herself, be it by spending 3 days a week at high-performance centres, receiving training from professionals to taking care of her strength factors. Vidula knows her strengths and weaknesses which gives her an edge over others. This class 10 student loves challenges.
