Playing the flute requires concentration and excellent coordination of the body, especially the hands, eyes and mouth. It also goes without saying that a player needs to be able to read music sheets, breathe into the mouthpiece and play the right notes. Anirban Roy, one of our chosen 18, has mastered this art like few other contemporaries. Taking inspiration from his father, Anirban started playing the flute at the tender age of 4. Since the start, he has looked up to stalwarts of of Indian classical music such as Pannalal Ghosh and Hariprasad Chaurasia, wanting to make a mark with his music as well. And in his quest to be the best, Anirban has won several accolades like the Young Genius, Nada Nandan Award, Kalki Gaurav Award, Sangeet Piyasi certification, Asian African iconic brand awards, Sri Shanmukhananda, Sama Bala Puraskar, and others. Mastering an instrument like the flute is no easy task. It serves as a milestone that not everyone can achieve. This provides flute players with a sense of accomplishment, helping them develop confidence in their own abilities and skills.
