“Students who tested positive are isolated in the MDP (Management Development Programme) Residence on the campus with self-contained rooms and room service facilities. Medical supplies, food and counselling services are also being provided by the institute in keeping with the guidelines issued by the Jharkhand government. The isolation facility was inspected by the East Singhbhum district administration. The MDP Residence area is a declared containment zone on the XLRI campus. Though the isolated COVID-positive students are showing mild symptoms and are doing well, the XLRI administration is monitoring the situation closely to ensure full recovery and rule out any chance of spread," said a communique issued by the institute on Thursday evening.

Advisories have also been issued by the administration to other campus residents to strictly follow social distancing, wear masks and comply with the institute’s policy on COVID-19 and the directions of the state government.

Students who have tested negative have been asked to vacate the campus and return home, following appropriate protocol.
