The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) is scheduled to close the WB NEET UG 2023 counselling stray round choice filling and choice locking facility today, 21 September. Candidates have until midnight today to fill in their choices and lock them.
The WBMCC also issued a notice regarding the seat conversion of NRI quota seats to management quota in WB NEET UG counselling under the stray round. “ The NRI quota seats in the seat matrix of the online stray round shall be converted to the management quota seat during the allotment process of the online stray round if no eligible and qualified NRI candidate further remains to take such seats in the online stray round itself ” the WBMCC notice read.
The quota seat conversion is being done as the stray round will be the last round for taking admission to the MBBS programmes in the state. The last date of admission for the MBBS programmes for the academic year 2023-24 is scheduled to be 30 September by the MCC and National Medical Commission.
If the candidates get a seat in the stray vacancy round, they will have to join the allotted seat. ” If such allotted candidate remains not reported in online stray vacancy round, then information of such candidate shall be shared with MCC, National Medical Commission (NMC) and National Testing Agency (NTA) to bar the candidate from appearing in NEET UG 2024 exam” an official statement from the WBMCC read further. The committee has extended the admission date and fee payment to 30 September.
According to the NMC guidelines, there will be no physical stray round for admission to the West Bengal NEET UG admissions and the committee has scrapped the earlier schedule published for the physical stray round counselling in colleges scheduled to be conducted from 28 September to 30 September.
