The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has announced an extension of the application submission deadline for Class 9 and 11 lateral entry admissions for the year 2024. Prospective students now have until November 7 to apply for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) Class 9 and 11 lateral entry admissions, which can be completed on the official website, navodaya.gov.in.

The initial deadline for applications was set for October 31, but the NVS has granted a 7-day extension, offering aspiring candidates more time to apply. The entrance tests for both NVS Class 9 and 11 lateral entry admissions will take place on February 10, 2024.

Eligibility for the Class 11 lateral entry selection test is limited to students currently enrolled in Class 10 during either the January-December 2023 session or the April 2023 to March 2024 session. Those who have already cleared the Class 10 examination before the 2023-24 academic session are not eligible for this lateral entry program.

Applicants are required to upload their photograph, signature, and parent's signature in jpg or jpeg format, with a file size ranging from 10kb to 100kb.

As per NVS's age limit criteria, students' birthdates should fall between June 1, 2007, and July 31, 2009, inclusive of both days.

The NVS lateral entry test will have a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes, conducted from 11 AM to 1:30 PM, comprising five sections with only objective-type questions. An additional 15 minutes will be allocated for reading instructions and questions from 10:45 AM to 11 AM. Differently-abled students will be granted an extra 50 minutes to complete the test.
