Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia Najma Akhtar pleaded with the Centre on Saturday to approve the construction of a medical and nursing institution in the area. Subhas Sarkar, the Union Minister of State for Education, gave a speech at the university's 102nd foundation day celebration on Saturday. Speaking at the occasion, Akhtar emphasised the accomplishments of the University since its founding and noted that JMI has consistently advocated for peace and patriotism.
"Jamia has always promoted advancement, illumination, and togetherness in variety. The university frequently discusses citizenship and coexistence. We have been holding national and international seminars and conferences on nation building and have significantly contributed to realising this ideal,” added the vice-chancellor. According to Akhtar, the university is pleading with the government to approve the construction of a medical and nursing college since it is urgently needed by both Delhi residents and residents of the city's neighbouring cities, such as Noida.
In his speech, Sarkar praised JMI as one of the top universities in the nation and offered his congratulations to all of the stakeholders, including the alumni, students, and members of the teaching and non-teaching communities. I am really proud of the institution for reaching this new milestone, and I want to congratulate you all "he said According to him, Jamia's professors, research fellows, and students consistently outperform the national average in terms of academic performance.
