JEE Mains 2023: For B.Tech, B.Arch & B.Planning, NTA will adopt different marking scheme

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2023 marking scheme for Paper 1 (BE, BTech), Paper 2A, and Paper 2B (BPlanning) has been changed and explained in the information brochure released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) recently.

Check the important details below regarding JEE Main 2023 MCQs:

  • On every correct answer, candidates will be awarded 4 marks
  • For every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted
  • If any question is left unanswered then no marks will be given
  • If more than one option is found to be accurate, four marks (+4) will only be given to those who marked one of the correct options.
  • All those who answered the question correctly with all of the provided answers will receive four marks (+4).
  • Full marks will be given to all candidates who appeared, regardless of whether the candidate attempted the question or not, if none of the options is found to be accurate, a question is found to be incorrect, or a question is left

JEE Main 2023: BE & B.Tech Changes

Each topic (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry) in the JEE Main Paper 1 for BE and BTech will have two sections, each with 90 questions for 300 marks. Section A will include 60 multiple-choice questions, and Section B will have 30 questions with numerical answers that must be filled in. There will be negative markings for both section A and section B, and engineering candidates must attempt 5 out of 10 questions.

JEE Main 2023: B.Arch Changes

Parts 1 (Mathematics) and 2 (Aptitude Test) of the JEE Main Paper 2A- BArch question paper will only be conducted by computer-based testing (CBT), whereas part 3 (Drawing Test) will be administered via pen and paper in an offline setting. For a total of 400 marks, about 82 questions will be asked in this part. According to the JEE Main 2023 information brochure, there will be 20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and 5 questions with answers that must be entered as a numerical number. Negative marks will be assigned to both Sections A and B.

JEE Main 2023: BPlanning Changes

Parts 1 (Mathematics), 2 (Aptitude Test), and 3 (planning-based) of JEE Main Paper 2B- BPlanning will only be conducted as computer-based tests (CBT). This section will consist of about 105 questions with a total of 400 marks. Similar to Paper 2A, Paper 2B uses the same marking system.

JEE Main for the January 2023 session will be conducted by the NTA. On the following dates 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31 January 2023 the JEE Main session 1 exam will be held.
