Jadavpur University, Kolkata, has ranked fifth across India for Art and Humanities in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022.

The overall score of the college in this category is determined by 5 indicators. Jadavpur University (JU) scored 72.5% for Academic Reputation, 42.9% for Employer Reputation, 48.6% for Citations per Paper; 44.2% in H-index Citations, and 31.7% in International Research Network.

The other Indian institutes in this category are Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), which ranked 188 globally; the University of Delhi, which ranked 227; IIT Bombay at 333 and IIT Delhi between 401 and 450.

JU is the only state university in India which was ranked in the QS World University Rankings in the sphere of Arts and Humanities, 2022, a spokesperson said.

JU vice-chancellor Suranjan Das expressed happiness that the higher educational institution was striving to maintain its high academic excellence by laying stress on research activities. The success is more significant considering it is in the domain of Arts and Humanities, he said.
