Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras has launched the official mock tests for all seven papers of the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2024. Prospective candidates preparing for the February 11, 2024 examination can now access these resources on jam.iitm.ac.in.
As the application window for JAM 2024 has closed, aspirants are expecting the release of admit cards on Monday, January 8, 2024. The mock tests, a crucial component of exam preparation, are set to play an important role in familiarising candidates with the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.
Here are key points to note about the JAM 2024 mock tests
Exam Format: All seven papers will be conducted in CBT mode, with questions presented in a random sequence. The exam duration is three hours, and the medium is English.
Paper Structure: Each paper consists of 60 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. The paper is divided into three sections – A, B, and C – each containing compulsory questions.
- Section A: 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with 10 one-mark and 20 two-mark questions. Negative marking applies to incorrect answers.
- Section B: 10 Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) carrying two marks each. No negative marking for incorrect answers.
- Section C: 20 Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions, featuring both one-mark and two-mark questions. No negative marking for this section.
- Answering Format: Unattempted questions result in zero marks. Negative marking applies to Section A, with 1/3rd deduction for one-mark questions and 2/3rd deduction for two-mark questions. Sections B and C carry no negative marking.
