ICFRE invites MSc, MPharm graduates to apply for environmental research positions

The Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) -- a government agency under the Union ministry of environment and forests -- has begun conducting walk-in interviews for research positions that are being offered to students who have completed their MSc or M Pharm.
The positions being offered to candidates in the field of M Pharm or MSc are junior project fellows and project assistants for specific research projects purely on a temporary basis under the ICFRE terms and conditions.
The council is looking for a junior project fellow and a project assistant for the “Sustainable management of NTFPs through conservation and value addition” project. In order to be eligible, the candidates need to be experienced in field tours and must have a good knowledge of Computer Application.
The project period is from January 2019 till December 2024. Once selected, the junior research fellow will receive a salary of Rs 20,000 every month, along with other incentives. For the project assistant’s post, a stipend of Rs 19,000 plus incentives will be given every month to the selected candidate.
ICFRE is also looking for a junior project fellow for the “Genetic Improvement and Value Addition of Madhuca longifolia” project. Applicants must be experienced in field tours, selection of candidates plus trees and vegetative propagation techniques like cutting and grafting, along with good communication skills. The project period is from January 2020 till December 2025. A stipend of Rs 20,000 and incentives will be given to the selected candidate every month.
Eligibility criteria for the ICFRE research positions:
The walk-in Interview for the junior project fellow was held on December 10 and is scheduled for December 13, 10 am onwards for the project assistant post. All interviews have been scheduled at the Institute of Forest Biodiversity (IFB), Hyderabad.
