The Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) will begin teaching the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) syllabus in the 2023–24 academic year, per recommendations from Praveen Prakash, Principal Secretary, School Education, Andhra Pradesh.

He said that in class 8 of the 2022–23 academic year, bilingual NCERT textbooks were distributed in order to ensure that the children were well-prepared for the CBSE 10th class exams slated for 2025. The class VIII kids received free tabs that were filled with premium content. The price of each tab is INR 30,000. They have access to almost 17 lakh volumes.

In response to Praveen Prakash's directive to adopt the CBSE curriculum in the KGBVs as of the following academic year, SBTS Devi, state president of the KGBV Teachers Association, said, 'We are welcoming the current action of the government. The teachers at KGBVs are prepared to support any government initiative, but we ask that they set a minimum time frame for us. The minimal time frame has yet to be implemented, despite 3 Gos being given'.
