The International Science Olympiads is a group of worldwide annual competitions covering various fields of formal sciences, natural sciences and social sciences. These competitions have been designed for four to six best high school students from each participating country, selected through the National Science Olympiad.

In India, the initial level selections are carried out through the Indian Olympiad Qualifier (IOQ). During IOQ part A, 300 students from various streams including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and junior science are selected through a written exam. Out of these 300, a total of 30 students will be selected for orientation camp for the next stages during IOQ part B.
