Amity University Jharkhand (AUJ) entered into an agreement with Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Ranchi on Friday evening.

“The aim of this agreement is to foster a collaborative education programme, capacity building and joint research projects. In the present scenario, collaboration is the prospective path for the mutual growth of the institutions in all dimensions. It includes capacity building and lifelong learning, academic excellence and its growth, promoting state-of-the-art programmes and facilitating the academic need of the Jharkhand state,” said a statement issued by the university.

“The memorandum of understanding we signed is the beginning of what we believe to be a long relationship in which we will learn from each other through cooperative academic pursuits for the betterment of mankind,” said Amity University Jharkhand’s pro-vice-chancellor Ashok K. Srivastava.

According to the MoU, the AUJ and the RIMS shall make provisions to share their respective important facilities to promote academic and research interaction in the areas of cooperation and research instrumentation while facilities available with the AUJ and the RIMS will be made available to the faculty and research scholars.

There shall be an exchange of students for academic, research and training purposes. Students of Amity Institute of Clinical Psychology (AICP), a constituent unit of Amity University Jharkhand, will work under the guidance of a psychiatrist and clinical psychologist of the RIMS and help in the assessment and treatment of cases.

“Students will be exposed to all therapies and infrastructure for completion of their programme. Faculty members of the AICP with clinical background and expertise in testing will accompany students to give them necessary guidance and help the RIMS in testing, analysis and using therapies to patients,” said a spokesperson of the varsity.

The psychiatrist/clinical psychologist of the RIMS will guide and supervise the AUJ students, while the RIMS on request from the university will provide short-term training to trainees of the varsity.
