An MTech final-year student from the Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering department at Heritage Institute of Technology (HITK) has bagged an offer of Rs 42 Lakh from Amazon AI for the position of Applications Engineer.

Kaustuv Sarkar of the Class of 2022 is overjoyed as his interest lies in Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning.

Kaustuv will be joining his new role soon. “I had a keen interest in Artificial Intelligence and my basics in Instrumentation Engineering helped me a lot. Amazon AI is a different type of company where I can hone my skills, especially for Artificial Intelligence,” Kaustuv said.

The placement season at Heritage Institute of Technology saw students bagging final placement as well as internship offers from companies like Google, Amazon, and more.

Students Archi Chomal and Amisha Jodhani from BTech-CSE Batch of 2022 received offers to join as Software Development Engineers at Google. Amisha got a final placement offer from Goldman Sachs and Archi got one from Amazon after they worked as interns in the companies.

Students who will be graduating in 2023 also received offers as interns from Amazon. In the Mechanical Engineering department, students got final placement offers from Tata Advanced Systems Ltd.

“We are proud to celebrate the moment where our students are joining some of the top multinational companies. I wish Kaustuv all the best and hope his achievement inspires juniors,” said Madhurima Chattopadhyay, head of the Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering department at Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata.
