Presidency University to organise Literature Festival: An event to celebrate literature & its contribution to society

The Presidency University, in collaboration with the Publications Society and the three literature departments (Department of English, Bengali and Hindi) is organising a week long Literature Festival, commencing from today. This event will continue up to 31 March 2023. This is the first time that Presidency University has taken such an initiative. The festival aims to promote and celebrate literature and its contribution to society. 

The Festival will also have panel discussions with luminaries such as Prasanta Ray, Samata Biswas, Harsho Mohan Chattoraj, Adhir Biswas,  Pushpak Sen, Chelsea McGill, Chimay Guha, Sujan Neel Mukhopadhyay, Tapodhir Bhattacharya and other acclaimed personalities. The discussions will be on topics ranging from Anti-caste Activism in the University Space, Partition and Politics, aspects of the LGBTQIA+ community, Linguistics and Society, World Literature. 

The week-long event is all set to take place at 5pm in the revered presence of the University authorities, faculty members, students and Alumnus. The Lit-Fest will begin with a talk titled "Cultures of Thought at 86/1", that will discuss the transition of cultures from (erstwhile) Hindoo College to today's Presidency University.
