On Saturday, December 7, 2024, Ling Liang High School successfully hosted its highly anticipated Athletic Meet at St. Lawrence high school, Ballygunge Ground. This momentous event marked the first athletic meet since 2018.
The theme, "Nature's Splendor,” added an extra layer of excitement and significance. The day commenced with a heartfelt prayer by Pastor Kuo Thai Chiang, Chairperson of Ling Liang High School. This was followed by an impressive drill display by students from Classes III to VI.
Our esteemed Chief Guests, Mr. Dan and Mrs. Vera Kuranji, renowned social workers from Serbia, graced the occasion with inspiring words. The events were filled with fun, energy and valuable life lessons. Younger students participated in eco-friendly races like “Planting the Sapling” and “Say No to Plastic,” while older students competed in thrilling events such as the Sack Race, Marble-and-Spoon Race and Obstacle Race. The Treasure Hunt, Three-Legged Race and Relay Races for boys and girls were equally captivating. The Parents’ and Staff Race received thunderous applause.
The program concluded with the announcement of results and prize distribution. Lamb (Yellow House) emerged victorious, followed closely by Dzao (Blue House) in second place, Hoffmann (Green House) in third and Pierce (Red House) in fourth.
Students were given medals and the Lamb (Yellow House) got the winner’s trophy. The event closed with a small cake cutting ceremony for the winners.
The Athletic Meet 2024 was an unforgettable experience, filled with excitement, teamwork and cherished moments. This spectacular event will forever be etched in our memories.
