On 23rd August 2023, a tree distribution campaign was conducted at DAV Model School, Asansol. The tree distribution festival is organized jointly by the West Bengal branch of DAV Zone and Rabindra Sarobar Friends Forum, Kolkata. The complete direction of the program was given by Mrs. Papiya Mukhopadhyay Mahashya, Regional Branch Head of West Bengal DAV Zone. The result of her tireless, hard, and sincere work efforts is the week-long tree distribution festival.

On this occasion, mango, lemon, and erica palm trees were handed over to the students of classes VII, VIII, IX, X, and XI of the school. According to the masterful guidance of Mr. Amit Kumar Das, the head teacher of the school, through this campaign, the pioneer students of the next generation are committed to creating awareness and creating a concerted initiative on the benefits of planting trees to protect the balance of the environment.

About thousands of trees were distributed among the students on this occasion. This greening initiative is perhaps the first of its kind school-level campaign in the state by DAV zone. The week-long initiative will continue until Saturday, August 26. About 2,500 trees will be distributed among the students through this program. School students participate in this initiative and take a step towards greening.
