The AuxeMUN Club of St Augustine’s Day School, Barrackpore, hosted its second edition of Inter-school Model United Nations on the 27th, 28th and 29th of March, 2023, with other renowned schools of North Kolkata participating in the same.
A congenial miscellany of both amateur(s) and accomplished Munners thronged the hallways of St. Augustine's Day School Barrackpore as the Secretary General of the AuxeMUN club, Mr. Abhirupak Chattopadhyay, declared the conference open. The inauguration ceremony, held at the extended campus of the school at Manirampur, was graced by the Chief Guest, Ms. Sanyukta Dey, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science, Bethune College. Her insights and wisdom enlightened the delegates with eternal values, thereby sensitizing them to foster sociability and warmth in the long run.
The conference consisted of four stimulating committees (The Lok Sabha, the International Press Corps, the United Nations Historical Security Council and DISEC), with a contrasting set of agendas which further focused on different topics of discussion. The Special Guest and Observer, Mr Hreed Gupta, Secretary General, Bhawanipur Education Society College Assembly of Nations 2023, joined us in the second half of the committee. He was cordially welcomed and greeted by the Management and Principal ma’am, Ms J Biswas.
Diving to the depths in pursuit of history, the general ambience of the rooms was packed with affinity and enthusiasm as over 100 delegates from the Calcutta MUN Circuit looked forward to the debate. The event culminated with the Principal's engaging note and the prize distribution ceremony, held at the Gasper Hall, where the delegates were awarded for their sterling performances in the three days of the committee. As a bonus, the club had the exclusive release of its Annual Newsletter - "Rivista". The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks by the club in charge, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all for making this event a big hit.
