The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has announced significant changes to the class 12 curriculum for the academic session 2024-25. The board's decision includes discontinuing Punjabi, Gujarati and French while introducing three new vocational subjects, aiming to align education with contemporary demands.

In a bid to adapt to evolving educational trends, WBCHSE has made strategic adjustments. The decision to discontinue Punjabi, Gujarati, and French stems from a consistent decline in student enrollment in these languages over recent years.

The three new vocational subjects introduced by WBCHSE are Banking Financial Services and Insurance (BFIV), Food Processing (FDPV), and Telecom (TELV). This move is intended to equip students with practical skills and knowledge that align with current industry demands, fostering better employability prospects.

The marking scheme for Health and Physical Education, Music, and Visual Arts has also been revised by WBCHSE.

Additionally, changes in subject codes have been implemented, necessitating students to adhere to the updated codes while registering for the class 12 board exams.

For further details, students are encouraged to refer to the official notification released by the board.
