The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has extended the evaluation deadline for the Class 10 (High School) and Class 12 (Intermediate) examinations 2026 after disruptions slowed down the process across multiple centres. The answer sheet evaluation, which commenced on March 18, was initially scheduled to conclude by April 1, 2026, but could not be completed within the stipulated timeline.
Officials attributed the delay to multiple public holidays falling during the evaluation period. The holidays observed on March 21 for Eid-ul-Fitr and on March 26 and 27 for Ram Navami significantly impacted the pace of the checking process. Several District School Inspectors and Deputy Controllers from evaluation centres submitted requests seeking an extension to ensure proper completion of the work.
Taking these factors into account, the board has now revised the deadline, allowing evaluators additional time until April 4, 2026, to complete the assessment process. Authorities have instructed all evaluation centres to utilise the extended period efficiently and maintain accuracy in checking answer scripts.
In addition to the revised evaluation timeline, the board has directed that the award lists must be submitted to the respective regional offices by April 5, 2026, to ensure timely processing of results.
The UP Board conducted the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations for the 2026 academic session between February 18 and March 12 in offline mode across the state. The exams were held in two shifts daily, with the morning session from 8:30 am to 11:45 am and the afternoon session from 2 pm to 5:15 pm.
This year witnessed massive participation, with over 52 lakh students registering for the examinations and approximately 49.4 lakh candidates appearing. Prior to the theory exams, practical examinations for both classes were conducted in January and early February in multiple phases.
With the evaluation now nearing completion, students across the state are eagerly awaiting the announcement of results, which is expected once the assessment and data submission processes are finalised.
