University of Delhi (DU) is set to introduce an answer sheet re-evaluation facility for its law students, a feature previously unavailable to them, according to university officials, PTI reported. This initiative is expected to commence for LLB students in the upcoming academic year, with plans to gradually extend the facility to students of management, medicine, and other professional courses.

Currently, re-evaluation is offered for most undergraduate and postgraduate courses at DU, but professional course students had been left out. A DU official explained, "This change will ensure that students in professional courses also have the option to seek re-evaluation if they feel their answers were not properly assessed."

The Faculty of Law, one of the university’s largest departments with over 10,000 students, will be the first to benefit from the decision. DU currently charges INR 1,000 per paper for re-evaluation and INR 750 for rechecking, which involves recounting marks without reassessing the content of answers. Students can also obtain copies of their answer sheets at INR 1,000 per paper. These charges apply universally and are subject to periodic revisions, as noted on the DU website.

Officials emphasised that this move will not only benefit students but also enhance accountability in the evaluation process.
