The Supreme Court on Friday denied a petition to postpone the NEET-PG 2024 examination, set for August 11, despite claims that the allocated exam cities are inconvenient for many candidates; as reported by the PTI.

Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud, alongside Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, emphasised that altering the schedule would unfairly impact the future of approximately 200,000 students. "As a matter of principle, we will not reschedule the exam. There are two lakh students and four lakh parents who will weep over the weekend if we postpone it. We cannot put the careers of so many candidates in jeopardy. We do not know who is behind these petitions," the bench observed.
