Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has commenced the application process for its Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) programme for the 2026–27 session, offering free coaching for candidates preparing for the Civil Services Examination (CSE). The initiative aims to support aspirants from minority communities, Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and women by providing structured academic guidance along with residential facilities.
The application window opened today, April 1, and will remain active until May 26, 2026. Interested candidates can apply through the official university portal by paying an application fee of ₹1,325 along with applicable bank charges. The entrance examination for the programme will be conducted in thirteen cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru.
The RCA programme offers comprehensive preparation for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, covering General Studies, CSAT, optional subjects, test series, and interview guidance. Participants will also benefit from access to a 24x7 air-conditioned library and a structured academic environment designed to support preparation through 2027.
As per the official schedule, the entrance test will be held on June 6, 2026, comprising two papers—a General Studies objective-type paper (Paper I) from 10 AM to 11 AM, followed by an essay paper (Paper II) from 11 AM to 1 PM. The written test results are expected to be announced around July 10, with interviews scheduled from July 16. The final selection list is likely to be released on August 7, and the admission process will conclude by August 18, 2026. Classes are tentatively set to begin with an orientation session on September 1.
Candidates will also be allowed to make corrections to their application forms on May 29 and 30, 2026. Additionally, a waiting list admission process will be conducted between August 21 and August 25.
To be eligible for the programme, applicants must hold a graduate degree and should be preparing to appear for the Civil Services Examination 2027. Candidates currently enrolled in regular academic courses or engaged in full-time employment are not eligible to apply.
The selection process includes a written examination followed by a personal interview. The programme offers a total of 100 seats, with 5% reserved for candidates with disabilities. While the coaching is provided free of cost, selected candidates are required to pay a refundable security deposit of ₹7,000, along with applicable hostel and mess charges.
Through this initiative, Jamia Millia Islamia continues its efforts to promote inclusive education and provide equal opportunities for aspirants aiming to enter India’s civil services.
