Ten per cent of the seats in Bengal’s private engineering colleges are reserved for JEE Main rank-holders.

Candidates can register, pay the registration fee and indicate their choices till July 25. Seat allotments in the first round will be declared on August 1.

In the intervening period, the board will conduct a mock seat allotment based on choices indicated by the candidates. The results of the mock seat allocation will be out on July 27, JEE board registrar Dibyendu Kar said.

Candidates can modify their preferences based on the mock seat allotment and lock their choices by July 28.

Payment of the seat acceptance fee and enrolment will continue from August 1 to 5.

Those who are not happy with the seat allotment in the first round will be entitled to upgrade their choices. The second round of seat allotment results will be announced on August 8.

“Payment of seat acceptance fee (fresh allottees)... and admission will take place from August 8 to 11,” says the JEE board’s notification.

Registered candidates who want to exit the counselling process may “withdraw” during this phase.

For the mop-up round, candidates can register, pay the registration fee and indicate their choices from August 14 to 16.

Students who had registered before the first phase of the counselling and were not allotted seats in round 1 and 2 can take part in the mop-up round without having to register afresh.

In the mop-up round, too, there will be mock seat allotment. The results of the mock seat allotment, based on the choices indicated by the candidates, will be announced on August 17.

Candidates can modify and lock their choices by August 19. The mop-up seat allotment results will be out on August 22.
