With Bengal meeting the digital tools gap in government schools, other states are running behind

According to data presented by the government in the Lok Sabha on Monday, less than 10% of Indian schools have access to information and communication technology (ICT) tools in at least ten states.

The data was taken from the Unified District Information System for Education Plus 2020–21, which notably demonstrated that few kids had prior experience with ICT when the nation entered the Covid epidemic and schools become virtual.

Here is a list of the states with the rate of equipment with ICT from lowest to highest:

With more than 1.5 million schools, 9.6 million teachers, and 264 million students, the Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE), which combines DISE for elementary and secondary education and was introduced in 2012–2013, is one of the largest management information systems for school education. The updated version of the original UDISE is called UDISE+.
