Due to the extreme heat in the state, the summer break will start on 2 May 2023 instead of 24 May 2023 for government-run and aided schools in West Bengal, a senior official announced on Wednesday. However, no official statement has yet been made in this regard.
The decision to reschedule the summer vacation was made because of the extreme heat. The new commencement date is 2 May 2023. Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister, insisted that the decision be made, the person told PTI. Later, when reporters questioned Bratya Basu, the education minister, about the development, he responded positively.
The West Bengal region will continue to see heat waves during the weekend, according to the India Meteorological Department. According to the Met Department, there will be hot, dry weather in the districts of Bankura, Purulia, Paschim Medinipur, Paschim Bardhaman, and Birbhum, and the temperature may rise by 2-4 degrees.
