West Bengal education department issues mandates for schools reopening

With primary and upper primary schools under the West Bengal Board of Primary Education reopening on February 16, the department of schools education has issued mandates to ensure the smooth reopening of the institutes. 

 

Some of the mandates include:

  1. Students of each class shall report half an hour prior to normal school hours. 
  2. All classes of primary schools will be held following Covid-appropriate protocol and safety norms. 
  3. All teaching staff can attend the campus with effect from February 15. 
  4. Hostels may be opened wherever necessary as decided by the concerned schools. Compliance with COVID-19 norms is must. 
  5. All schools should be properly sanitised and all present on campus will have to follow COVID-safety rules such as wearing masks at all times, social distancing etc. 
  6. All districts have to nominate the ADM (education) as the nodal officer. He will need to be advised on all the necessary measures such as maintaining COVID-appropriate protocol. 
  7. Cooked mid-day meals, wherever applicable, to be served to all students attending classes. Necessary arrangements to be made by February 15. 
  8. All district schools are to keep their SPs/CPs informed with requests to render assistance in the field level and and when needed. 
  9. Paray-Shikshalay will be discontinued from February 16.
