The West Bengal Board of Primary Education has announced that the results for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2023 will be released in the first week of July. The TET exam, which took place on December 24, 2023, saw a notable decrease in the number of candidates compared to previous years.
Despite the exam being conducted nearly seven months ago, candidates have been eagerly awaiting the results. The delay was primarily due to the thorough process of reviewing and finalizing the answer keys.
Gautam Pal, the President of the Primary Education Board, confirmed that the challenge process for the answer keys has been completed and the final answer keys will soon be uploaded in the official website this month i.e June 2024.
Key Details of the Examination Process
The number of candidates in 2023 saw a significant drop compared to 2022, where over 600,000 candidates had registered. This decrease is attributed to a policy change allowing only those who had cleared the Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) to appear for the TET exam.
The Primary Education Board had previously announced its intention to hold the TET exam twice a year. This new schedule aims to provide more opportunities for aspiring teachers and streamline the recruitment process for primary educators in West Bengal.
