WBCSC begins recruitment for post of principal in state colleges

The West Bengal College Service Commission (WBCSC) is inviting applications for the post of principal in state-aided colleges of West Bengal. The last date for submission of applications in June 10 (midnight).

Candidates between 40 and 55 years of age are eligible to apply. The age as on January 1, 2022, will be considered. Candidates must have a master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) by a recognised university/institution or a PhD degree. Associate professors/ professors with a total service experience of at least 15 years of teaching/ research in universities, colleges and other institutions of higher education can apply. In addition, candidates must have a minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a minimum research score of 110.

The application fees for general candidates is Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,500 for SC/ST/OBC/ differently abled candidates.

The cut-off date for qualification and experience, including publication, will be announced on June 10.

The West Bengal higher education department has taken the initiative to ensure that the posts of principal in colleges of the state do not remain vacant. At present, there are 450 government-aided colleges in the state.
