The Uttar Pradesh National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (UP NMMS) scheme has extended the last date for registration in 2023 by 10 days. Initially scheduled to close today, the application window will now remain open until September 28. Eligible candidates can submit their applications conveniently through the official website at entdata.co.in.
The NMMS scholarship examination is slated for November 5. To qualify for this opportunity, students must have passed their Class 7 exams in the academic year 2022-23 with a minimum aggregate score of 55%. Notably, SC and ST students will receive a 5% relaxation in the minimum passing marks requirement.
Selected candidates will be entitled to an annual scholarship of Rs 12,000 throughout their academic journey from Class 9 to 12. However, only students currently studying in Class 8 at government, government-aided, or local body council schools are eligible to apply. Additionally, the family income of applicants should not exceed Rs 3,50,000.
It's important to note that students enrolled in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), Sainik School, government residential schools, and private schools are not eligible to participate in this examination.
To apply for the UP NMMS scholarship for 2023, students are required to upload their government-issued income certificate, Class 7 mark sheet, and caste certificate (for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students). Importantly, there is no application fee for the UP NMMS scholarship examination.
