It must further be noted that the official notification for the CDS 2 exam is yet to be issued by the UPSC on its official website. The academy-wise vacancies for applicants will be issued along with the CDS 2 notification. As per the CDS exam calendar, the CDS 2 exam will take place on 3 September 2023.
The Combined Defence Services Examination, also referred as CDS, is held by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruiting Commissioned Officers in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. This examination takes place twice a year, usually in the months of February and September.

Steps to register for CDS 2 application form:
- Visit the official website for application: upsconline.nic.in
- Now log in to your registered account or register for the OTR
- Tap on the CDS 2 exam link
- Fill up all the details asked
- Upload the necessary documents required such as: photograph, signature, and Photo Identity card
- Pay your application fee for the CDS 2 exam
- Select your CDS 2 exam centre
- Lastly, submit your application form
- A confirmation message will be sent to your registered mobile number and email id
