UPSC has issued an official notification regarding the release of admit cards for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy Examination (I) 2026.
Candidates who have successfully registered for the examination are advised to download their e-admit cards promptly once released.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued an official notification regarding the release of admit cards for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy Examination (I) 2026. As per the announcement, the e-admit cards will be made available on the official website, upsconline.nic.in, ahead of the examination scheduled for April 12, 2026 (Sunday) at centres across the country.

Candidates who have successfully registered for the examination are advised to download their e-admit cards promptly once released and take a printout for future use. The commission has made it clear that entry into the examination hall will be strictly denied to candidates who fail to produce a printed copy of their admit card at the allotted venue.

Along with the admit card, candidates must carry a valid photo identity proof, the details of which should match those mentioned on the hall ticket. In cases where the photograph on the admit card is unclear or does not include the candidate’s name and date, candidates will be required to bring a valid photo ID along with two recent passport-size photographs bearing their name and date. Additionally, an undertaking may also be required in such situations.

UPSC has emphasised that the e-admit card must be preserved until the final results are declared. No physical admit cards will be issued for the examination. Candidates are also urged to carefully read all instructions provided on the admit card to avoid any issues on the exam day.

The commission has set strict entry guidelines for candidates. Entry to the examination centre will close 30 minutes before the commencement of each session—10 AM for the forenoon session and 2 PM for the afternoon session. Candidates arriving after the gate closure time will not be permitted to enter under any circumstances. Moreover, candidates must appear only at the examination venue mentioned on their admit card.

In terms of permitted items, candidates can carry only essential materials such as the admit card, a black ballpoint pen, pencil, valid ID proof, and photographs, as specified. The use of black ballpoint pens is mandatory for marking answers on OMR sheets and attendance records.

UPSC has also issued strict instructions regarding prohibited items. Candidates are not allowed to carry bags, mobile phones, smartwatches, digital devices, books, or any other electronic gadgets inside the examination premises. Even switched-off mobile phones are strictly banned. Candidates are advised not to bring such items, as no storage arrangements will be provided at the venue, and the commission will not be responsible for any loss.

Violation of these rules may result in serious disciplinary action, including cancellation of candidature, filing of a police complaint, or debarment from future examinations. While simple wristwatches are permitted, smart or electronic watches with communication features are strictly prohibited.
