The University Grants Commission (UGC) postponed the second phase of the National Eligibility Test. As per the tweet of UGC chairman M. Jagadesh Kumar, the second shift of UGC NET will now be held between 20 to 30 September, 2022. 

"The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the first phase of UGC-NET December 2021 and June 2022 (merged cycles) examination on July 9, 11 and 12, 2022 for 33 subjects in 310 examination centres located in 225 cities across the country," tweeted the UGC chairman.

"Second phase was earlier scheduled to be held on 12, 13 and 14 August 2022. However, now the final phase examination of UGC-NET December 2021 and June 2022 (merged cycles) has been scheduled to be conducted between 20 and 30 September 2022, involving 64 subjects," he added.

Kumar even stated that the examination city will be announced on 11 September on the official NTA website and the admit card will be available to be downloaded from 16 September onwards in the same website:  ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Applicants will have to enter their date of birth and registration number on the NTA login portal to download their UGC NET admit card. 

Kumar advised students to regularly visit the NTA website: ugcnet.nta.nic.in and not trust fake notices being circulated on social media.
