UGC Chairman: International Publishers Are Interested in Publishing UG Textbooks In Indian Language

M. Jagadesh Kumar, the chairman of the UGC, met with a number of foreign publishers on Wednesday to discuss the publication of college textbooks in Indian languages.

The representatives of Wiley India, Springer Nature, Taylor & Francis, Cambridge University Press India, Cengage India, and McGraw-Hill India were present when Kumar met with them. The representatives, according to Kumar, have indicated their desire to take part in this project to support regional languages throughout the nation.

After the meeting, UGC Chairman took to Twitter to let people know about the project and wrote 'All the international publishers have expressed their willingness to partner in this national mission. UGC has formed an Apex committee to prepare a road map and work towards bringing out textbooks in different Indian languages.'
