The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has announced the stellar achievements of its top scorers in the Madhyamik (class 10) exams, captivating the hearts of many. Leading the pack is Chandrachur Sen, a prodigious talent from Rambhola High School (Cooch Behar), with a remarkable score of 693 marks (99%).

In a surprising revelation, Chandrachur confessed to a rather unconventional study routine, “I would study when I felt like it,” he said. Apart from academics, he enjoys participating in elocutions, extempore talks, and leisurely reading. “I want to become a doctor when I grow up. My parents want the same,” he shared. His aspirations fuel his dreams of triumphing in the NEET-UG exams.

Claiming the second spot is Samyapriyo Guru from Purulia Zilla School (Purulia), boasting a commendable 692 marks (98.96%). Despite his meticulous exam preparations, Samyapriyo found solace in occasional cricket matches on his terrace and indulged in his love for music. Like Chandrachur, he harbours ambitions of pursuing a medical career.

The third position is a joint triumph, shared by three exceptional students: Puspita Basuri from New Integrated Govt School, Illambazar (Birbhum), Udayan Prosad from Balurghat High School (Dakshin Dinajpur), and Nairit Ranjan Pal from Narendrapur R K Mission Vidyalaya (South 24 Parganas), all securing 691 marks (98.71%).

Puspita's disciplined approach, seeking guidance from teachers and acing mock tests, mirrors her determination to carve a path towards engineering.

With passion, perseverance, and a touch of individuality, these students have not just conquered exams but also ignited dreams that transcend boundaries!

This year's Madhyamik examinations, held from February 2 to February 12, witnessed a staggering enrollment of 9,23,636 students, with 7,65,252 candidates successfully clearing the exams across 986 centres statewide. Notably, the rise in female candidates by 25.95% signifies a progressive stride. With an overall pass percentage of 86.31%, the West Bengal Board celebrates yet another triumphant year of academic excellence, with male and female pass percentages standing at 89.21% and 83.90%, respectively.
