Even as the city of joy got soaked in the rain on Thursday after running incessant heat waves for nearly a month, it was a full house at The Telegraph Online Edugraph Educators Meet'24, held in association with NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kolkata and Techno India Group at the heart of the city.

The event witnessed massive participation from School Principals and heads of educational institutes across Kolkata, even as the rains lashed heavily outside. Percussionist Bickram Ghosh, the Chief Guest, was the show-stealer, who left the audience mesmerised with his wonderful weaving of words followed by a stellar performance.

"Educators meet a lot of challenges in this ever-changing world. Meeting these challenges and turning them into opportunities is the main task for teachers," said Cecil Antony, Chief Mentor, NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kolkata.

Speaking on the scope of Artificial Intelligence, Antony said that with the advent of AI in the scenario, education will get redefined and the role of the teachers will also change and new roles will come up.

Prof Manoshi RoyChowdhury, Co Chairperson of Techno India Group, on the other hand emphasised on the importance of teachers in the age of technology.

"Technology is rapidly taking over the education sector. The world can't run without smartphones and laptops. However, they can never replace teachers," she said.

"It is only because of our Principals and teachers, we can say that our students are performing. It is the feelings, sentiments and pat of a teacher on the shoulder of a student that matters the most," she added.

Bickram Ghosh talked about his journey of becoming the tabla maestro and playing with Pt Ravi Shankar and Rhythm Scape, his first album. He also highlighted the role to be played by educators in nurturing the different talents in children and carving out the fine citizens of tomorrow.
