Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam or SSC CHSL is a combined competitive exam held to choose competent students from higher secondary schools for various government ministries and offices.

SSC may choose and make recommendations for candidates for Assistant and Clerk positions using a computer-based test, a descriptive essay, a skill test, or a typing test.
There are three stages that candidates must pass through in order to be selected for the SSC CHSL exam. Three phases, or "Tiers," make up the SSC CHSL exam; the first is an online exam, and the other two are offline.
- Tier I is an objective multiple choice paper that was conducted from 24 May 2022 to 10 June 2022
- Tier II is a descriptive paper that will be conducted on 18 September 2022
- Tier III is a skill/typing test depending on particular posts and the dates will be announced soon
SSC CHSL Tier 2 Exam Important Points
- Tier-II Paper will be a descriptive Paper of 100 Marks in Pen and Paper Mode.
- The duration of the Descriptive Paper would be for 1 hour.
- The Paper would comprise writing of an Essay of 200-250 words and a Letter/ Application of approximately 150-200 words.
- The minimum qualifying mark in Tier II would be 33 %.
- The performance in Tier II would be included in preparing the final merit list.
- The paper will have to be written either in Hindi or in English. Part paper written in Hindi and Part in English will be awarded zero marks.
- Candidate must write his/ her correct Roll Number and affix signature and Left-hand Thumb Impression in the relevant columns in the Question Paper-cum-Answer Book failing which zero marks will be awarded.
- Candidates are strictly advised not to write any personal identity e.g. name, Roll Number, Mobile Number, Address, etc inside the Answer Book. The candidates who fail to adhere to these instructions will be awarded zero marks.
