Edtech platform Practically and United Nations India jointly hosted the 15th edition of the United Nations Young Changemakers Conclave (UNYCC) at Naval Lawns in Mumbai recently.

Themed ‘7 Superpowers to Save the World’, the UNYCC 2022 is an initiative of Samyak Chakrabarty, the founder and president of X-Billion Skills Lab, and Project Naveli by Navya Naveli Nanda in association with United Nations India.

Practically is an experiential learning app designed to make learning immersive for students of classes VI-XII.

A key highlight of the conclave was a discussion between Charu Noheria, the co-founder and COO of Practically, and health tech entrepreneur Navya Nanda of Aara Health and Project Naveli. They spoke at length about the growing importance of digitisation in their respective sectors of education and health. A key takeaway from this discussion was a tectonic shift created by technology in these important sectors.

The two entrepreneurs discussed the need for women to be aware of technology and remain open to the idea of entrepreneurship, considering that the number of women entrepreneurs is considerably low in India.

“We are delighted to partner with the UNYCC to present their latest conclave in Mumbai. Today’s youth are willing to work towards a better world, and the United Nations Young Changemakers Conclave is a wonderful platform for a meaningful dialogue on creating a more empowered world. We, at Practically, have always been supportive of youth development and believe that initiatives like these will help create a lasting impact,” said Noheria.

The students and attendees made the most of the experiential booth set up by Practically. It was one of the key attractions of the event, and early birds also availed exclusive scholarships and goodies from Practically.

“Practically is a new player in Edtech and has created a new space in the learning process. I look forward to seeing their technology being used to create the next generation of thinkers who will take this country forward,” said Navya Nanda.

The conclave also saw distinguished speakers like actors Kareena Kapoor Khan and Rana Daggubati; a member of Parliament, Poonam Mahajan; Adar Poonawalla, the CEO of Serum Institute of India; Shombi Sharp, a UN resident coordinator in India; Roopa Kudva, the managing director of Omidyar Networks India; Bishow Parajul, a representative and country director of World Food Programme; Amit Mookim, the managing director of IQVIA South Asia; Nikhil Kamath, the co-founder of Zerodha; Diksha Radhakrishnan, the deputy director of Centre for Social and Behaviour Change at Ashoka University SEWA Women.
