The Center for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE) of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has launched an online certificate program in Additive Manufacturing Technologies (AMT) for practising engineers. Registration for the current session is underway, and the window will remain open till 20 September 2023. 

The course objective is to enrich professionals with a rundown of pre-processing and post-processing methodologies, design strategy for additive manufacturing, and operational principles of additive manufacturing processes. Getting to know about the fundamental principles that govern additive manufacturing methodologies would help engineers improve the commercial applications of available AMT. 

Candidates willing to register for the course need to have an undergraduate degree in engineering or basic/applied sciences with a minimum of three years work experience to be eligible. As Dr Murugaiyan Amirthalingam, Associate Professor, Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, IIT Madras, stated, “This course is aimed at the practising engineers and middle-level managers who have not undergone classroom teaching on additive manufacturing.”
