The registration for National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship, or NMMS, West Bengal is in process. Students can apply for the scholarship exam on the official website- wbsed.gov.in.
The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education (MoE) conducts the NMMS exam for the students of Class 8 annually to provide scholarships to candidates belonging to economically weaker sections.
Online application for the scholarship exam began on 23 June 2023. Eligible and interested candidates must apply before the last date 25 July 2023. The exam will take place on 17 December 2023.
Students of Class 8 who secured 55% and above marks in the final examination of Class 7 are eligible to appear in the centrally sponsored NMMS Examination, 2023 for Class 8. A five percent relaxation is given to SC, ST, and disabled candidates. The annual income of parents should be below Rs 3,50,000 and an income certificate supporting the same must be uploaded.
NMMS West Bengal 2023: Steps to apply
Students from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, and state government-run residential schools or any private school are not entitled to the scholarship.
