NMC: Fresh applications for increase in PG seats for 2024-25 must be submitted by medical colleges

For the forthcoming academic year 2024–2025, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has requested that medical colleges submit new applications to increase seats for postgraduate (PG) medical courses.

According to the commission, the Postgraduate Medical Education Board (PGME) has already processed most of the applications due for recognition and renewal of recognition in 2022.

Further, it stated that the board was currently processing some of the applications the medical colleges had filed and would probably be finished soon.

Since the Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) has called applications for increasing the number of seats in post-graduate courses, "such medical colleges or institutes may submit fresh applications for increase of seats in various post-graduate courses being run by them for admission in the Academic Session 2024–2025," the NMC stated.
