The National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur, hosted a three-day research conclave in hybrid mode.

The annual conclave is aimed at creating opportunities for research scholars to interact with national and international experts and seek their feedback to improve the quality of their projects.

“Such events help researchers take up problems that could be useful in the social sector or solve the problems of the industry,” said a spokesperson for NIT Jamshedpur.

IIT Kharagpur director V.K. Tewari, the chief guest at the inaugural function, stressed the need to carry out research that could solve the problems of the country.

BIT Mesra vice-chancellor Indranil Manna, who is also a former director of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research Institute – Central Glass & Ceramic Research Institute (CSIR-CGCRI), Calcutta, was the chief guest at the valedictory function. He applauded the efforts of NIT Jamshedpur in hosting such programmes for the benefit of scholars.

Other speakers at the conclaves were Rajiv Shekhar, director, IIT ISM Dhanbad; Avinash Agarwal from IIT Kanpur; Animesh Jha from University of Leeds, UK; Amitava Roy from University of Portsmouth, UK; N.C. Shivaprakash from IISc Bangalore; and Debi Prasad Mishra, director of National Institute of Technical Teachers' Training and Research (NITTTR) Calcutta.

NIT Jamshedpur director Karunesh Kumar Shukla advised the scholars to rise to the occasion and take up research problems for the societal and industrial development of the country.
