NIT Andhra revamps its BTech curriculum, adds new features

The institute organised a conclave to discuss the new curriculum that has new relevant features.
The conclave aimed at giving all stakeholders a glimpse into the implementation of NEP in the institute.

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Andhra Pradesh has revamped its BTech curriculum and added new features as part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 implementation. 

The institute also conducted two symposiums under the banner of ‘National Conclave on Strategies for implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) 2020’ on October 29 and 30, 2021. This seminar enabled administrative staff, students, researchers and faculty members to obtain awareness on developments attainable upon implementation of NEP in the institute.

Addressing the gathering, CSP Rao, director, NIT Andhra Pradesh, said, “In line with the recommendations of the NEP 2020 and autonomy, the revamping of curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and student support for enhanced student experiences is highly encouraged by our institute. I am glad to share that the NIT has revamped the curriculum for its undergraduate programmes from the 2020-21 academic year onwards. We are glad that this conclave gave us the opportunity to discuss National Education Policy 2020 and relevant developments in the institute to the stakeholders.”

Features of the new curriculum: 

The ‘Symposium I- Vision of NEP on academic parameters’ was inaugurated by Tamilsai Soundararajan, governor of Telangana and Lt. governor of Puducherry.

Addressing the gathering, Soundararajan, said, “I am glad to understand that NIT Andhra Pradesh, in spite of being the youngest among all NITs, has taken essential steps towards establishment of required infrastructure, offering lectures to students employing modern day technology.”

‘Symposium II - Vision of NEP on research and extra-curricular parameters for holistic education’ was inaugurated by Biswa Bhusan Harichandan, governor of Andhra Pradesh, who said, “The investment on research and innovations in India is recorded as 0.69% of the GDP, which will improve in view of the NEP. There is a need that the criticality of research is more assured than in the past, for the economic, intellectual, societal, environmental, and technological health and progress of a nation.”
