The National Exit Test (NExT) mock exam registration fee are now being refunded by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi. The registration fee will be reimbursed in due course in the bank account from which payment was made, according to the AIIMS, which was administering the test.

"The refund process of registration fees of candidates who have registered and paid fees for the Mock/Practice National Exit Test (NExT) has been initiated," the institute stated in a statement. "The registration fee will be refunded in due course of time in the respective account from which payment was made."

On July 28, the mock NExT was supposed to take place twice. The NExT step 1 was supposed to be a computer-based test, while the NExT step 2 was supposed to be a practical/clinical test.

According to the AIIMS announcement, applicants in the general and OBC categories paid Rs 2,000 as a registration fee, while applicants in the SC, ST, and EWS categories paid Rs 1,000. For the exam, there was no cost for those with qualifying disabilities.

The National Exit Test will be used as a common basis for passing the MBBS final test, merit for admission to postgraduate programmes, a licence exam to practise modern medicine and a screening exam for foreign medical graduates who want to practise in India, according to the NMC Act.
