The Educational Testing Service (ETS) announced that the duration of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) general test will be shortened to two hours starting from September 2023. ETS has also notified changes in the number of questions, sections and declaration of results. 

The GRE exam 2023 will commence from 22 September and registration window has already opened on the official website – ets.org.

Moreover, now candidates will get their GRE results in eight to ten days. Earlier, the exam used to be conducted for 3 hours and 45 minutes.

ETS CEO Amit Sevak said, “The changes we’re announcing today underscore the emphasis we place on keeping our customers at the center of all that we do.” “As we continue to introduce product innovations, we’re committed to balancing two things – maintaining rigor and validity, while improving the test-taker experience,” he added.
