The Counselling process for NEET UG 2024 is expected to begin by the end of July, reported PTI quoting official sources. The counselling session was scheduled to begin from July 6, however, no date or schedule was declared by the authorities in this regard.
As per PTI sources, the process of issuing permission letters to some medical colleges is still underway and additional seats are likely to be added. The dates of the counselling will be announced once the exercise gets over.
Amid the ongoing demand for the cancellation of the NEET UG, 2024 exam over alleged malpractice, the Central Government and National Testing Agency (NTA) has told Supreme Court on Friday that cancelling the entire test can 'seriously jeopardise' lakhs of honest candidates.
The NEET UG examination was held on May 5, 2024 across the country. The examination witnessed massive protests by students and the opposition over alleged large scale malpractice - ranging from question paper leaks to impersonation.
The matter is currently being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
