National Award to Teachers 2023: Registrations open till 15 July

The registration window is open for the National Award to Teachers 2023, bestowed by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The award aims to recognise the contribution of excellent educators in India, whose tireless efforts have not only elevated the quality of school education but have also enriched the lives of the students. 

Important dates for National Award to Teachers 2023:

1. Registration window: 23 June 2023 to 15 July 2023
2. Call shortlisted candidates to deliver a presentation before the national jury: 4 August 2023 and 5 August 2023
3. Finalisation of names by Independent National Jury: 14 August 2023
4. Intimation of selected candidates: 16 August 2023 to 18 August 2023
5. Rehearsal and Award Ceremony: 4 September 2023 and 5 September 2023

Eligibility Criteria for National Award to Teachers 2023:

• School teachers and heads of institutions serving for a minimum of 10 years and are currently employed in recognised primary, middle, high or higher secondary schools are eligible for the award
• Teachers who have retired this year but were on active duty at least till 30 April may also be considered for the award
• Registered candidates should not have indulged in tuition
• Educational administrators, inspectors of education, staff of training institutes, contractual teachers and shiksha mitras are not eligible for the award
