For schools and universities that provide courses of diverse types, it will have a variety of NAAC accreditation criteria

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has ruled that all references to educational institutions' accreditation will now only be in binary terms, i.e., whether they have received accreditation already or not.

According to Dr. Bhushan Patwardhan, Chairperson of NAAC, "the objective is to erase the dread associated with the NAAC accreditation process, and to make it more of a facilitator for all the educational institutions to thrive for greatness."

'For schools and universities that provide courses of diverse types, we will also have a variety of NAAC accreditation criteria. The chance to apply for NAAC accreditation will also be available for specific programmes administered by colleges or departments of any university', said Patwardhan.

In an effort to raise awareness of the accreditation process, the NAAC organised the conference in collaboration with the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) for principals and management representatives of non-accredited colleges around Maharashtra.
